Privacy Policy

NeatSports (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a football-data and predictions platform operated by Simeon Kirilov. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit neatsports.com or use our subscription products, why we collect it, how it is stored, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who is the data controller

The data controller is Simeon Kirilov, founder of NeatSports. You can reach the controller at any time via the Contact page or by message on Telegram @iGamingKirilov.

2. What we collect and why

2.1 Information you give us

  • Account data — email, hashed password, display name, subscription tier. Required to authenticate you and gate paid features.
  • Billing data — payment is processed by our PSP (Stripe / WooCommerce Payments). NeatSports stores only the order metadata (invoice ID, amount, plan, status). We never see or store full card numbers.
  • Communications — messages you send us via the contact form, email, or Telegram. We keep these as long as needed to handle your request.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • IP address — kept transiently (max 1 hour) to enforce REST-API rate limits and to derive a coarse country code. The IP is never written to a long-lived row.
  • Country (ISO-2) — read from the CDN/host header (HTTP_CF_IPCOUNTRY or HTTP_X_COUNTRY_CODE) so we can show kick-off times in your timezone and surface the right localised league set.
  • Device class — derived from the User-Agent string (mobile / tablet / desktop). Used purely to choose a layout breakpoint.
  • Timezone — your browser’s IANA zone, captured client-side via Intl.DateTimeFormat(), used to localise match kick-off times.
  • Server logs — our host (Cloudways / DigitalOcean) keeps standard nginx access logs for up to 14 days for security and abuse prevention.

3. Cookies

We use the minimum cookies needed to run the site:

  • WordPress session cookies — set when you log in, expire when you log out or after 14 days.
  • WooCommerce cart / checkout cookies — set only when you start a paid checkout flow.
  • Preference cookies — to remember your dark-mode choice and the timezone display.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers, cross-site profiling pixels, or behavioural-ads SDKs.

4. Third parties we share data with

  • Stripe / WooCommerce Payments — processes card payments. Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudways (DigitalOcean) — hosts the site infrastructure.
  • Sportmonks — supplies the upstream football data we cache. Sportmonks does not receive your personal data; we send only fixture / league IDs.

We will only ever disclose your data outside this list when legally compelled (e.g. a binding court order).

5. How long we keep your data

  • Account records: kept while your account is active and for 12 months after closure (so we can reactivate on request and meet tax-record obligations).
  • Invoices: 7 years (statutory accounting retention).
  • Rate-limit / log data: ≤ 24 hours.
  • Backups: rolling 30-day window, then permanently overwritten.

6. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is inaccurate
  • Erase your account and all associated personal data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format (JSON export)
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority

7. Security

The site is served over TLS 1.3, passwords are hashed with WordPress’s bcrypt-based scheme, and the database is firewalled to the application layer. We run no third-party tracking JavaScript that could exfiltrate session data.

8. Children

NeatSports is intended for users aged 18 or over and is not designed for, or directed at, children under 16.

9. Changes to this policy

If we materially change this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and — for material changes — email logged-in subscribers in advance.
